LNT is a nationwide advocacy organisation for individuals with kidney disease, those undergoing dialysis, and people who have received an organ transplant—whether a kidney, liver, or pancreas. We work to ensure access to quality healthcare, protect rights, and enhance quality of life for our members. LNT also supports relatives and living donors, offering information, support, and a sense of community.

LNT Oslo and Akershus is one of several regional branches, and we are among the largest and most active. We organise social gatherings, themed educational evenings, excursions, cultural experiences, and accessible low-threshold activities for both members and their families. Our goal is to create a welcoming community for everyone, regardless of age, medical background, or life circumstances. With us, there is room for both seriousness and humour, and you are free to participate as much or as little as you like.

A key part of what we offer is the peer support service. Peer supporters are trained volunteers with personal experience of kidney disease, dialysis, or transplantation. They are available for confidential one-on-one conversations with patients and relatives—free of charge and with no obligations. Talking to someone who truly understands your situation can be especially helpful during difficult times.

Membership in LNT is open to anyone with kidney disease, those in dialysis, transplant recipients, relatives, living donors, and supporters. As a member, you help strengthen our work and community, and you gain access to benefits such as themed meetings, events, newsletters, and our members’ magazine Life & Transplantation.

Membership fees:

– NOK 350 per year for main members (increasing to NOK 380 from 2026)

– NOK 210 per year for supporting members (increasing to NOK 230 from 2026)
